Primary School Chaplain
A Note From Cheree...
![]() |
Hi! I've been at Carey Primary for four years and love working with children and their families. I'm a Christian Counsellor with a passion to help children who are struggling with life, due to changes in their family. Being a single parent myself, I understand that life is not always easy and feel very blessed to be in a position to help others going through hardship.
I see my role as threefold... children, parents and the teachers. I spend much of my time in the classrooms however I am also available for parents. Should parents ever need to talk about issues concerning your children or if you need some support then please don't hesitate in contacting me on 9394 9117. There are alsos two wonderful support courses available for students. See below... |
Rainbows Programme
![]() |
RAINBOWS is a supportive programme especially designed for children who are living in single parent families, step families or families that are going through painful transitions. When something significant happens to a family, the whole family is effected. Even though death and divorce appears to be a grown up problem, it has a profound effect on the children involved. If a parent dies, or seperation/divorce occurs, not only do the adults grieve, but the children grieve also and often find it difficult to verbalize their feelings. RAINBOWS has small group sessions that run for 40 minutes over twelve weeks with a trained facilitator. If you feel your child would benefit from being part of this programme, please contact Cheree Harris on 9394 9117. |
Kids With Courage
KWC is a six week programme that aims to strengthen primary aged children, together with their family, who are struggling at school, home or with peer relationships. The programme includes themes that build on the child's strengths. In a supportive, fun atmosphere they will explore feelings, set goals and find positive ways of making changes.
Cheree is once again running Kids with Courage in 2009. Keep an eye on this page for the commencing dates. If you would like to enrol your child in Kids with Courage next year, please speak to your class teacher or contact Cheree Harris on 9394 9117.
